None yet.
``Appearance;;
Nothing seems terribly out of the ordinary about Mel at first glance. She's slightly short for her age and has a lean, boyish figure. Slightly wavy light auburn hair spills out from underneath a slate grey newsboy cap, falling just slightly past her shoulders. Her bangs, usually swept off to the sides of her face, occasionally fall forward into her dark hazel eyes, much to her annoyance. Her skin is lightly tanned, with freckles sprinkled on her shoulders and the backs of her forearms.
Although her cap is a staple item in Mel's outfit, the other items are subject to change depending on weather conditions and their cleanliness. She tends to favor a slightly battered cargo jacket, lightish brown in color, whose many pockets hold a smattering of random and not entirely useful items. Underneath, she wears a tank top or t-shirt unless cold weather prompts her to dig out a long-sleeved shirt. A scarf can also be found wrapped loosely around her neck, which usually serves as more of a fashion statement unless the weather is honest to goodness cold. Mel has almost never been seen wearing a skirt of any kind, preferring instead slightly baggy jeans or capris. A pair of worn and dirty sneakers completes the outfit, with frayed laces that barely hold the shoes on her feet. Most of her possessions are kept in a large knapsack, excepting of course whatever she has in her jacket pockets.
``History;;
Mel was born in Celadon City to Charles and Ellen Grey. Though she was told her parents loved each other deeply, the key word seemed to be "loved", for Charles and Ellen divorced when Mel was three years old. Custody was given to her father, who began to spend increasing amounts of time in the Game Corner. When she visited her mother, Ellen would speak mostly of her older brother Nathan, who was about nine years older than her and had long ago left on a Pokemon journey. While she initially appreciated the insight into life when her parents were still happy together, Mel eventually tired of always being compared to her older brother and began to spend less and less time at her mother's. Still, she couldn't spend time with her father either; although he loved her dearly, she didn't want to spend her days breathing stale cigarette smoke in the Game Corner.
As such, Mel was left to find her own diversions. Around the age of nine, she fell in with a group of older kids, around eleven or twelve, who spent their time committing petty crimes for fun. Mel saw no harm in it; it wasn't as if the shopkeepers would miss a few bags of snacks, and their graffiti was simply unappreciated art. On the whole, the group looked up to Team Rocket, though none of the members really had the drive to join. They simply contented themselves with causing trouble around the city, never really aspiring to anything higher.
By the time she was thirteen, though, Mel realized that things couldn't continue as they were. Her father was racking up more and more debts, and her mother was becoming increasingly irritated by the constant requests for more money. The deciding factor for her departure was when her father was caught selling drugs to finance his gambling. In a few days, Mel obtained her mother's permission to set off on a Pokemon journey as well; to become more like her brother, no doubt. The morning she was to set off, Mel visited her father in jail, finally convincing him to find help for his addiction. She promised him that she would return to him, no matter what happened, and support him (but not his gambling) when she had made a name for herself.
And so, Mel left Celadon for Pallet Town, where the legendary Professor Oak was supposed to reside. Reaching it a few days after her departure, she was surprised to find herself truly excited.
{( To catch them is my real test``Personality;;
In a nutshell, Mel is blunt, determined, and a bit rough around the edges. Her determination is plain for anyone with eyes to see, evident in the proud way she holds herself and the drive in her hazel eyes. She doesn't beat around the bush, often uncomfortably direct in her questions, though this can cause problems in delicate situations. She tries to hold back her foul language around other people, though it slips out fairly quickly when she gets frustrated. Mel is surprisingly patient, a trait that emerged from having to coax her father home from the Game Corner many nights. However, once her wrath is incurred, it usually takes lots of yelling and possibly some physical abuse before Mel calms down enough to forgive.
Having spent most of her time with a group of miscreants, Mel has more sympathy for Team Rocket than the average trainer. Her decision not to join the Rockets stemmed mostly from the fact that she preferred fame to infamy, but she doesn't have the vehement hatred for the team that many do.

A chill wind stirred the fallen leaves of Rainsleet Town as a lone girl made her way through the quiet town. Said girl was very tall, very noticeable, and very very tired. "Ughhhh," she groaned, running gloved fingers through bright blue hair. "Damn kids who won't listen to their parents. I swear, that brat was chasing me all over the ship, asking me why my hair was bright blue. Stupid kid, respect your elders and go play with the other little children. Or stay with your mommy. Either way, just let me sleep." She continued to mutter to herself in this vein as she walked, black sneakers scuffing the ground.
"Then again," she continued, "I'm not really in a situation to talk." After all, she ran away from her home in Blackthorn City for the opportunity to go on a Pokemon journey, completely going against her parents' desire for her to stay in Johto and run a shop or something. No, thank you! She'd certainly tried, but it just hadn't been enough for her. "Mom and Dad must be worried sick," she murmured, then shook her head and stared up resolutely. "But they won't have to be for long! I, Corinne Theriander, will become the greatest Ice Pokemon trainer ever! All other trainers will fall at my feet, and the world will know my name!" she exclaimed energetically, pumping a fist into the air.
The wind chose this moment to gust by again, but it failed to dampen Corinne's enthusiasm in the slightest. "Hahahahahaaaaa! You are no match for me, wind, for I am an ICE trainer! Your cool temperatures mean NOTHING to me!" The girl proceeded to point dramatically with one hand in the direction the wind was blowing from before she realized how ridiculous she had to look. Dropping the pose immediately, she looked around quickly before walking away a bit faster than before.
Ahaha, I seriously hope nobody saw that, Corinne thought to herself as she continued through the town. Sure, this town might be quiet, but that doesn't mean it's deserted, Corinne. Think a little before you decide to act like a total spaz, all right? Well, let's just hope that whoever you decide to ask for directions didn't see you shouting at nothing. Who knows, maybe you'll even luck out and find a--
She stopped. She stared. She blinked twice and stared more, trying to determine if that was really what she was seeing. "IT'S A LAB!" Corinne screeched loudly, ignoring her previous command to think before acting like a spaz. "A LAB A LAB IT'S REALLY A LAB!" The girl all but ran up to the building, acting more like a ten-year old than a seventeen-year old. "I wonder what starters they have," Corinne said to herself gleefully, peering through a window to try and see inside. "Whatever it is, I'm definitely taking the Water-type! ... unless they have Sinnoh starters." She cringed at the thought before continuing to stare inside, her breath fogging the glass in front of her.
