A wooded path which leads to Viridian City, the path is littered with the remains of trainers who foolishly attempt to take on large packs of wild Pokémon. Although the path itself is not as densely wooded as the Viridian Forest, it is still dense enough for muggers who lay in wait for unprepared and inexperienced trainers.

For those lucky enough to survive the hell hole known as Route 1 they arrive at Viridian City a city that is legitimately owned and run by Team Rocket; attempting to capitalize on the emotionally scarred youths by setting up underground gambling dens and various scams and luring youths into spending all of their money. In addition, some trainers decide to end their careers as trainers and remain in Viridian City to set up lives for themselves. Due to the influx of population, the unemployment rate in Viridian City is extremely high.

The path leading up to the forest is well kept and watched over by Team Rocket members as per, Kanto region law, trainers may safely ravel down this path without fear of being mugged or running into large packs of wild Pokémon. However, once they enter the Viridian Forest they are on their own, as evidenced by the remains of trainers who get lost, having to deal with groups of bug type Pokémon, and the dense forests extremely dangerous. The tree tops are covered by dense webbing, and in the center of the forest lies a ‘surprise’.

The city just outside of the exit of Viridian Forest is one of the cities in Kanto outside the control of Team Rocket. It is a prosperous city, which under its Gym Leader focuses on the development of scientific research as evidenced by the large research facilities, a space research facility, and a museum. In addition, Pewter City has a renowned schooling city, its crown jewel being the Pewter City University, an institute for higher education which provides free education to those who can pass the entrance exam.

The path between Pewter City and Mount Moon, although there are wild Pokémon and trainers waiting around for battles, the area is patrolled and supervised by volunteers from Pewter city to ensure that, one the Pokémon don’t form large and dangerous packs, two that trainers don’t wait in hiding to mug passing trainers, and lastly and most importantly that no one dies. At the end of the Route there is a Pokémon Center, owned and operated by Pewter City, at the entrance of Mount Moon to ensure that trainers don’t go into the Mount unprepared.

Although Mount Moon is a Mountain, trainers are not required to climb, when traversing the mountain became an issue, Team Rocket had stepped up and funded a project to interconnect the internal caverns of the Mountain to create a pathway through it for trainers to walk through. In addition to this, Team Rocket had artificial lights installed inside of the cave to prevent the trainers from getting lost within the cave. Although the cave is used to connect Route 3 and Route 4 Team Rocket members are still seen wandering the caves mining for fossils and moon stones as well as other precious minerals.

A short mountainous and wooded path between the exit of Mount Moon and Cerulean City, however it does remain a dangerous path for three reasons. One that the path is not supervised or maintained causing large packs of Pokémon and muggers. Two the fatigue a trainer goes through after traversing the cave. And lastly, the difficulty of traveling the terrain, further tiring the trainer.

A City whose entire economy is based off of the single river running directly through the center of it; the river, which travels all the way through the Kanto Region, is used to transport packages without the use of Pokémon. The Cerulean Delivery Company, run by the Cerulean Gym Leader, provides enough money to fund all of the cities theatres, art studios, and film projects, earning Cerulean the title of the art capital of the Kanto Region. However, Team Rocket has been attempting to gain control of the delivery company by slowly taking control of the city by establishing rackets on the few non-art based businesses.

A small downhill slope just south of Cerulean City which leads to the underground pathway built between Route 5 and Route6. Although there are few wild Pokémon here, there is a man who claims to raise your Pokémon for you at a Daye Care Center.

A small lake and the surrounding grasslands just north of Viridian City, although there are a lot of wild Pokémon here they are kept from organizing into packs by a combination of Team Rocket and Kanto Police Forces.

A port town on the edge of the ocean, it is the only city in Kanto which has regular interactions with the other regions. The town is known for being more or less, average, having a decent economy. The only things that sets it apart from other cities, is an oceanic port, and that it is home to the Kanto Police Headquarters. Team Rocket, however, is aiming to make a claim on these lands; they have recently bought out a large section of land and have begun construction on a large Radio Tower.

A cave hollowed out hundreds of years ago by onix on their migration routes. This cave is the only way trainers can travel to the Lavender and Celadon Areas without the aid of flying or water types. Because the cave was not manmade, and has no form of natural lighting, it is nearly impossible to see inside without the help of Pokémon which knows flash. Many trainers do not survive their trek through the cave.

100 years ago the use of dark and ghost Pokémon was said to be occult. Those who used such Pokémon or have been said to use them were executed for their 'crimes' in what would be called the Lavender Dark Trials. Today, the use of dark and ghost Pokémon is acceptable, however the town has become somewhat of a sanctuary for the darkness, where the misfits of society visit to feel a part of something. In addition, Lavender Town is the home to Kanto’s largest Pokémon Cemetery.

The path between Lavender Town and Celadon City although it is not known for having too many large and dangerous packs of Pokémon it is known for having large groups of muggers who prey on traveling trainers, it is ill advised to travel this route alone.

The utopian capitol of the Kanto Region, it is pristine and has Kanto Police Guards patrolling the streets 24/7, Celadon is home to many important buildings including the Kanto Region Department Store, the Golden Dragonair Casino, owned and operated by Team Rocket and the Ninetundo Corporation building.

A city currently in turmoil, the Kanto Police in Saffron have known to be incredibly corrupt, so much so that those charged with guarding the gates to the city charge those who want to enter a drink before allowing them in. However, the greedy officers, having enough of Team Rocket calling the shots ‘rebelled’ creating a violent street war. A once pristine city, now ravaged by damage caused from violent battles in the streets.

The Bicycle Super Highway which links Celadon to Fuchsia is the fastest mode of travel if you own a bike. Because the Highway is paved over there are few wild Pokémon; however there are biker gangs who challenge trainers to one on one high speed bike battles.

The oldest city in the Kanto Region is extremely old fashioned as evidenced by all of the outdated architecture in the city. Things are so old fashioned that the local Pokecenter does not contain state of the art healing technology, but uses ancient herbalistic, Hellenistic, and aromatheraputic methods which are sometimes, more effective than traditional methods.

A massive body of water located to the South of the Kanto Mainland. The water is extremely dangerous considering the sheer amount of unregulatable water types below the surface of the water. Therefore, it is advised to take a ferry rather than ride a Pokémon or attempt to swim it on your own.
